A child-free woman who works from home has told of her shock after her 'neighbour from hell' insisted she spend weekdays with her baby in her house instead.
The homeowner purchased her property on a new development estate in March 2023. But when construction started on properties next to her neighbour's she told how her neighbour, Nancy, became concerned.
She said on Reddit: “There is a lot of noise Mon-Fri, from 7am to 4pm. Surprisingly the streets are very wide, and I don't really hear any of it on my side. I work from home three days a week. Nancy came to my house yesterday evening and asked me if she and her baby can spend the days at my house during those hours?”
After politely declining her request, she told how Nancy, who she also admitted to not knowing very well, accused her of not being very neighbourly.
She said: “Nancy said I was quite a bit of an ass. Said she didn't want to ask other neighbours because they were elderly, or single young guys, and she did not want to bother them, but felt it was okay to bother me.”
She went on to say that she thought the request was audacious: “I would never expect this of a neighbour, or make such a request ever. Maybe if it was an emergency for a day or two, but for 6 months?”

Zack Sharf Digital News Director Hayden Panettiere said in a recent interview with The Messenger that filming “Nashville” was “very traumatizing because I felt like I was acting out my own life.” The actor played country pop singer Juliette Barnes on the ABC musical drama, which ran for six seasons and 124 episodes between 2012 and 2018. Panettiere suggested the show’s writers often pulled from her real life while crafting Juliette’s storylines, which was emotionally traumatizing for her as storylines used her real-life struggle with alcoholism. “Straight from the beginning, it was like, I’m dating a football player, [and then] Juliette dates a football player,” Panettiere said.
Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic It’s not exactly breaking news in the world of show-biz satire that actors can be vain, or insecure; it’s been mined. But for as long as time and human consciousness still exist, there will be performers eager to wring laughter from skewering the vocation they hold dear, and audiences hungry for the piss-takes, as if they’re being let in on some trade secret.
