A woman was left 'constantly fearful' at the hands of her girlfriend, who struck her with a wooden slat, headbutted her and threw a TV at her while she was having a bath.
Armani Costello 'severely abused' her partner over the course of their relationship, also hurling ornaments at her in regular assaults. Her victim has been left living as a 'recluse' and suffered 'significant injuries and psychological trauma' at the hands of Costello.
Liverpool Crown Court heard that the 20-year-old and her partner first became a couple in early 2022 but that there was 'frequent violence' used by Costello towards her girlfriend, the ECHO reports.

She was left 'constantly fearful' with the defendant said to routinely 'pick an argument which would escalate to violence'. On one occasion, the complainant was in the bath when her abuser threw a TV at her.
During another row, Costello headbutted and scratched her. She also struck her with a wooden slat, causing bruising to her arms and legs.
On January 26 this year, she told her partner that she no longer wanted to be in a relationship with her. Costello, of Lingmell Avenue in St Helens, reacted to this by headbutting her and chucking a decorative glass ball at her.
Her behaviour was reported to the police following this, leading to her arrest on February 2. Giving a prepared statement to detectives under interview, she claimed that the allegations were 'all lies' and that her girlfriend was 'making it all up'.
Costello was previously handed a 22-week imprisonment suspended for 18 months on November 2022 for stalking and threatening to disclose private sexual images, committed against a former partner. She
