Rare and collectible vinyl records by acts including The Cure, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Bryan Ferry, New Order, Nova Twins and more are up for grabs at this year's White Label Auction.
In total, more than 200 lots of 'white label' test pressings will be available at the auction, which takes place online and on-site in Newton-Le-Willows, Greater Manchester this Tuesday, June 6, at 10am.
Highly collectible vinyl by Spice Girls, J Hus, The Stone Roses, Genesis, Emeli Sandé and Eurythmics will also go under the hammer at the auction hosted by music memorabilia and vinyl records specialists Omega Auctions.
The auction will raise money for The BRIT Trust, the charity that promotes education and wellbeing through music and the creative arts by supporting causes that include the BRIT School and Nordoff and Robbins. The White Label Auction was first staged in October 2019 with last year's event raising a total of £44,000.
Dan Hampson of Omega Auctions said ahead of tomorrow’s (June 5) event: "We are excited to be part of the White Label Auction once more in what is always a highlight of our year.
"Demand for music memorabilia remains buoyant despite the recent squeeze on disposable income as collectors spy a strong investment opportunity, and with the lots coming directly from labels, combined with their rarity, we expect the usual keen interest and for last year’s total hammer price to be eclipsed."
You can browse the 200+ lots available and place a bid over on the Omega Auctions website.

Karen Idelson While debates about the use of A.I. take center stage across the entertainment industry, the technology has been quietly assisting animation and visual effects crews for years. It had made some of the most astonishing visual images possible when artisans have been asked to do what was previously thought impossible. When helmer Peter Sohn wanted characters based on the elements of fire, water, air and earth for his new film “Elemental,” VFX supervisor Sanjay Bakshi and his team at Pixar looked to A.I. to make the process smoother. The look of the characters depended on adjustments that would align them with Sohn’s vision. “We used A.I. for a very specific kind of problem, and we used a machine learning algorithm called neural style transfer,” says Bakshi. “Our animation is so highly scrutinized. We go through so many review cycles for every shot and the animators are really handcrafting it and there’s not a lot of places where machine learning is applicable in the current form.
Jon Burlingame On the scoring stage at 20th Century-Fox studios in Burbank, composer Jongnic Bontemps is walking around in a “Transformers: The Movie” T-shirt – that’s the animated cartoon from 1986, not the $200-million summer blockbuster he’s just scored. “Violins, play a little softer,” he tells the musicians via intercom from the glass booth behind the stage. “It has to be emotional.” Later, after a rehearsal on a different cue, he tells the string players, “It needs to feel like a warm blanket.” Bontemps is making movie history. He has just spent two years writing the music for “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts,” the seventh in the big-screen franchise, and he’s supervising the recording of the final pieces of the score with a 74-piece orchestra. The film opens Friday.
Mark Guarino Chicago’s Bloodshot Records was a powerful and pioneering force in the alt-country movement of the 1990s and beyond, defining the genre with a roster of breakthrough artists including the Robbie Fulks, Old 97s, Alejandro Escovedo, the Waco Brothers, Neko Case, Justin Townes Earle, and the Bottle Rockets. In 2021, 27 years after its first release, label co-founders Nan Warshaw and Rob Miller sold Bloodshot to Exceleration Music, a global investment group that either owns the catalogs of or has strategic partnerships with other legacy labels like Alligator Records and Kill Rock Stars. At the time, Exceleration said it planned to largely manage and monetize Bloodshot’s back catalog. But this month it is releasing “Music Man,” a new album by Layng Martine Jr., a veteran Nashville songwriter who has written hits for legends like Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Trisha Yearwood, Reba McEntire, and the Pointer Sisters, among many others. It is one of five new albums Bloodshot is set to release this year, said Dave Hansen, an Exeleration principal.
