The term is an example of onomatopoeia, and it’s a reference to the sound of a heartbeat, as she sings: “Padam, padam, I hear it and I know / Padam, padam, I know you wanna take me home / Padam, and take off all my clothes / Padam, padam, when your hеart goes ‘padam.’”
Fans of the song have been amusingly putting “padam” just about everywhere online!
