An Armadale gym is up for a prestigious prize at the National Fitness Awards.
Personal Best: Health, Fitness and Well-being has been shortlisted for the Regional Gym of the Year in the Scotland and Northern Ireland category.
The National Fitness Awards is an annual event which recognises excellence and achievement in gyms throughout the country with Personal Best being one of seven finalists for the award.
Gym director Michael Smith told the Courier that he was ‘proud’ of the nomination but also insisted it was just the start of their ambitions.
He said: “We are very proud of our team at Personal Best. They consistently go the extra mile for people and they genuinely care about supporting our community and helping people to live confident, happy lifestyles where they feel comfortable and capable of success.
“We are a small family business and the community we have built is very special.”
He added: “Along with 20 members, Personal Best, sponsor a room at Smile Counselling which allows young people in West Lothian to gain free counselling support for their mental health.
“We are all committed to supporting one another, working hard to better ourselves and to lift those around us who are struggling.
“It’s a culture we are very proud of and when we go to the National Fitness Awards, we will be representing our whole community and everything we have built together.
“However, there is still a lot of work to be done and we know these awards are a great recognition of what we are doing, but it is just the start for us and our ambitions.”
The awards take place in Leicester on Friday night with Diane Youdale - best known as Jet from Gladiators - hosting the glittering event.
