Walker has officially been renewed by The CW!
“I’m so excited and grateful to continue the ‘Walker’ legacy for another season alongside our partners at CBS Studios and The CW,” Jared Padalecki, the show’s star and one of the executive producers, told Variety. “We can’t wait to make Season 4 bigger and better than ever and to lasso even more fans into the ‘Walker’ family. Let’s ride!”

While it’s great news that the show is renewed…it will be getting a shortened season than previous seasons. Season 4 will have only 13 episodes. Seasons one and three both had 18 episodes and season 2 had 20 episodes, so this will be a change for the series.
The season finale will air this coming Thursday.

It comes before Season 5 of the popular drama series has even set a premiere date, though it is expected to air in the fall. “Virgin River” was renewed for both Seasons 4 and 5 back in 2021, with Season 4 debuting in July 2022. The series is based on the Robyn Carr book series of the same name. The cast of the series includes Alexandra Breckenridge, Martin Henderson, Tim Matheson, Annette O’Toole, Colin Lawrence, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Lauren Hammersley, Grayson Gurnsey, Sarah Dugdale, Zibby Allen, and Marco Grazzini.

Starring George Lopez opposite his real-life daughter Mayan, the multi-cam comedy follows a working-class old-school Latino (George) who moves in with his Gen Z daughter (Mayan) as they rebuild their dysfunctional relationship one argument at a time. Along with the Lopezes, stars include Matt Shively as Mayan’s live-in boyfriend Quinten Van Bryan, Brice Gonzalez as their son Chance Lopez-Van Bryan, Selenis Leyva as Mayan’s mother and Geroge’s ex Rosie and Al Madrigal as George’s employee Oscar. The series frequently features guest roles played by prominent Latino actors such as Constance Marie, Rita Moreno, Justina Machado, Marilyn Milian, Danny Trejo and Melissa Fumero.
Walker Independence executive producer Jared Padalecki is not giving up hope that the show will find a way to go on and says a search is underway to find a new home for Season 2. Following the CW’s cancellation of the Walker prequel series Tuesday, Padalecki tells Deadline’s sister site TVLine, “We are aggressively looking for a place that Walker Independence can land.”

The CW Network has renewed “Walker” for a 13-episode fourth season that will air in the 2023-2024 broadcast season. Netflix has renewed political drama The Diplomat for a second season.Created by Debora Cahn (The West Wing, Homeland), the series follows Kate Wyler (Keri Russell) as she becomes the new US Ambassador for the UK and juggles international crises with her turbulent marriage.After the show debuted on April 20, Netflix confirmed on Monday (May 1) the series will return for a second season.Speaking about the renewal, Russell said: “I am thrilled to be headed back for another round of this smart screwball show.
