The upcoming 2023 MTV Video Music Awards are set to include some of the biggest stars in music — and some newcomers.
Topping this year’s VMA nominees with eight nominations is Taylor Swift as she looks for a repeat “Video of the Year” win after breaking records in 2022 to become the only artist to win the category three times. Although Swift, 33, leads this year’s nominations, she is followed closely by SZA with six nominations and Doja Cat, Kim Petras, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Olivia Rodrigo and Sam Smith with five nominations each.
This year also features several first-time VMA nominees who are receiving multiple nominations including Metro-Boomin, Rema, Ayra Starr, GloRilla, Ice Spice, Peso Pluma, Reneé Rapp and Yung Miami.
They’ll all find out if they’re winners at the 2023 Video Music Award broadcast from the Prudential Center in New Jersey. The show will air live on MTV on Tuesday, September 12, at 8 p.m. ET.
