After revealing its opening, closing, centerpiece, and 60th-anniversary titles, Film at Lincoln Center (FLC) has announced the 32 films that comprise the Main Slate of the 60th New York Film Festival (NYFF), taking place September 30–October 16 at Lincoln Center and in venues across the city. We already know big highlights like Noah Baumbach’s “White Noise,” the Opening Night Film starring Adam Driver, and Greta Gerwig, but there’s much more.

The 60th New York Film Festival unveiled its main slate from established and upcoming directors with Cannes’ Palme d’Or-winner Triangle of Sadness by Ruben Östlund, Claire Denis’s Stars at Noon (tied for Cannes Grand Prize), Park Chan-wook’s Decision to Leave (Cannes Best Director), and Charlotte Wells’ debut feature Aftersun (Cannes’ French Touch Jury Prize).

The Inspection, Elegance Bratton’s narrative feature debut, will close out the 60th New York Film Festival with its U.S. premiere Oct. 14.

As the world premiere of “Bones And All” approaches at the Venice Film Festival, it’s easy to forget that Luca Guadagnino has another movie on the way. “Challengers,” set for release next August, stars Zendaya as the wife and coach of Mike Faist‘s tennis pro, who’s in the middle of an epic losing streak.

Luca Guadagnino is no stranger to the Lido, having world premieres for four of his films at the Venice Film Festival over the years, including his last film, 2018’s “Suspiria” remake. So, it’s no surprise that Guadagnino returns to the 79th edition of the festival with his latest film, “Bones And All.” The film is part of the 2022 program announced earlier today, in competition for Venice’s coveted top prize, the Golden Lion.

The lineup announced today for the 79th Venice Film Festival is a varied and rich offering from the world’s oldest event of its kind. There are auteur filmmakers galore who have also shown commercial mettle, previous Lido winners and some tantalizing out-of-competition entries including a short film featuring Chris Rock. While there may not be a Dune– or Joker-sized Hollywood tentpole in the bunch, this is an intriguing mix which is sure to bring plenty of star power — notably with Olivia Wilde’s out of competition title Don’t Worry Darling ferrying Florence Pugh, Harry Styles, Gemma Chan and Chris Pine to the island.
