Jennifer Lopez became tearful as she was recognised at Sunday's MTV Movie & TV Awards in California, where she picked up the Generation Award. After taking to the stage, the singer-turned-actress, 52, was unable to mask her emotions as she shed a tear and thanked her fiancé Ben Affleck in her acceptance speech.

Jennifer Lopez will be honored with the Generation Award during the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards hosted by Vanessa Hudgens, it was announced on Friday. According to the network, the award “celebrates beloved actors whose diverse contributions to both film and television have turned them into household names.” And for Lopez -- the ultimate multihyphenate -- that’s a 30-year-long career that has spanned TV, film, music and fashion after first appearing on as a Fly Girl dancer. As one of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, Lopez’s movies have earned over $3 billion at the worldwide box office while she has sold over 75 million records.

Vanessa Hudgens and Tayshia Adams are serving as co-hosts for this year’s MTV Movie & TV Awards.

Vanessa Hudgens will always be synonymous with. It's been nearly 15 years since the sequel hit theaters and fans can't stop singing some of the film's best hits, and the 33-year-old's reminded it of that every day.Hudgens spoke to ET's Lauren Zima ahead of her hosting gig at the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards and she revealed being blown away how time has flown by since premiered in August 2007. Hudgens, who played the lovable Gabriella Montez, said that part of her life feels like a lifetime ago but there's a new generation keeping that part of her life vividly alive.«The fact is kids are still watching it,» Hudgens tells ET.
