Time to set some goals, make a New Year’s Resolution (or two), and get MOVING with your plans for next year. I love setting goals. Not because I’m an especially goals-oriented person, but because for me it’s a helpful exercise in mindfulness.
Setting New Year’s goals helps me to reflect on what I’ve already achieved and set some intention for what I’m still interested in. My goals shift and change over time and from year-to-year, but defining them in January is still really important. It’s a goal in and of itself, actually! Here’s how I go about setting my goals and intentions for the next years.
It’s a process. And it doesn’t have to be daunting, but with the right amount of thought and eagerness for something MORE, you’ll be fine. Tips for Setting New Year’s Goals & Intentions 1.
Reflect on the Past Year‘s Accomplishments Take time to review the past year’s successes, challenges, and personal growth. Consider the lessons learned and use them as a foundation for setting meaningful resolutions. Identifying areas of improvement or unfulfilled goals from the past can provide valuable insights into what you want to achieve in the coming year.
2. Be Specific With Your Goals Specificity is key when formulating resolutions. Instead of a broad goal like “eat healthier,” specify your intent, such as “consume at least five servings of vegetables daily.” The more detailed and concrete your goals, the easier it becomes to create a plan of action, track progress, and stay motivated.
