Princess Beatrice has broken down into tears as she sang a hymn at the memorial of her grandfather Prince Philip on Tuesday 29 March at Westminster Abbey. Amid Russia's invasion of Ukraine, it is reported that the Queen's private estate is looking to provide homes and jobs to Ukrainian refugees.The move comes after a rural estate in Scotland offered accommodation and employment to those fleeing Ukraine, with Prince Charles also thinking of helping at his Dumfries House estate in Ayrshire. Autherine Lucy Foster was an icon of the civil rights movement as the first Black student to attend the University of Alabama.Foster had already received her bachelor’s degree from Mills College when she decided to seek admission to the segregated University of Alabama as a graduate student in 1952. She was initially admitted on her qualifications, but the admission was revoked when school authorities learned she was Black. Foster worked with the NAACP to fight for admission.
