A Scottish charity has urged the UK Government to agree a “fundamental overhaul” of its controversial Universal Credit (UC) policy.
Citizens Advice Scotland (CAS) laid out six urgent reforms to Tory Work and Pensions boss Thérèse Coffey, including shortening the time period before a payment is made.
The charity's Social Justice spokesperson Mhoraig Green said: “UC is supposed to provide this support, but our evidence shows that in reality it penalises people who work.”
