Two men accused of murder allegedly took a taxi from Manchester to Birmingham to visit a lawyer after the killing, a jury heard. Raami Mohamed, 21, and Kevell Blake, 20, have pleaded not guilty to the murder of Badri Issa.
Mr Issa, 22, died after being stabbed in Moss Side. Prosecutors allege he was killed while he tried to act as a peacemaker when a fight broke out following a row over a car.
They allege Mr Mohamed stabbed Mr Issa, and that Mr Blake ‘assisted and encouraged’ Mr Mohamed 'in his use of the knife'. The pair both deny murder.

There had been a 'background of hostility' between the pair following a row over a car, which Mr Mohamed had agreed to rent from a firm said to be linked to Mr Jeylaani. Jurors heard Mr Mohamed didn't pay the agreed sum and then said he was 'going to keep the car'.
In an incident said to have happened about two weeks before the alleged murder, Mr Jeylaani 'repossessed' the vehicle, the jury was told. Then, on October 25, a confrontation developed prior to the fatal stabbing, which occurred on a lay-by on Moss Lane East.
Prosecutors said Mr Issa had tried to 'calm things down', and positioned himself between Mr Mohamed and Mr Jeylaani. Mr Blake allegedly punched Mr Jeylaani during the incident prior to Mr Issa being stabbed. He was pronounced dead about 45 minutes later.
