Friends and family of Chorlton legend John Daly have paid heartfelt tribute to him following his death.
John Daly, who died aged 55, has been described as a 'well known' and 'much loved' community figure in Chorlton and Stretford. In the 1980s, he worked as a driver and roadie for many bands before starting to organise gigs and events - and even his own resort festival in Bulgaria.
A funding appeal for the 'generous' music-lover's funeral bought significant donations from many people, who have praised his 'kind' and 'gentle' soul.

"He was a great guy who would help everybody," friend Robert Knight told the Manchester Evening News . "He was known as a very kind, generous and fair individual, his passing at 55 years has bought great sadness to a large community in Manchester.
"John was a very well known and much loved figure in Manchester and beyond."
John's brother, Mike, said of his late sibling: "Whether you were a homeless person or a millionaire, John would have time for you and be willing to help you, a cup of tea, a bicycle wheel, a van, anything. John never judged people, and he lived to help people and make their lives better."
"This is what everybody is saying and I can vouch for this from my own experience of John. He really did know and help homeless people AND a millionaire or two, and he was the same with everyone. If you were happy - he was happy."
And in a popular Chorlton Facebook group, tributes poured in from his community. "John Daly was an absolutely fantastic golden guy," Shelley Doherty wrote. "He completely lived his life to the full as Anyone on here who knew him
