Yazmin Oukhellou has broken her silence in the wake of Jake McLean's funeral today, Tuesday 16 August. Jake tragically passed away aged 33 last month following a car crash in Turkey. Yazmin, 28, was in the passenger seat at the time and was left with severe injuries.
While she wasn't pictured at her on-and-off boyfriend's funeral, the TOWIE star took to Instagram to pay her respects. Sharing snaps of them together, she wrote: "I have been taking some time away from social media to fully focus on my mental and physical recovery. I needed this time away to work on healing and processing everything as best as I can." Yazmin went on: "This has taught me that life is so short and we must cherish our loved ones as much as possible.
"I am so grateful for our memories and the special time that Jake and I shared. I’ve not stopped thinking about him and I’ll miss him always. He will forever hold a special place in my heart.
"I want to thank everyone for their support and lovely messages. I truly appreciate each and every single one of you." Yazmin's TOWIE co-stars have since rushed to voice their support for their friend. "Wish I could give you a cuddle, love you yazmin," wrote Demi Sims, as Harry Derbidge added: "Love you lots yaz, you are so strong and everyone loves you [heart emoji] always here for you, forever xxxx".
Meanwhile, the 28 year old's close pal and TOWIE newcomer Junaid Admend's post began: "My beautiful bestfriend". He went on: "I love you so much and I’m with you every step of the way. My heart hurts for you and what you have been going through and still dealing with all of this.
