Alan Lawson, 36, died in hospital after he was discovered seriously injured at his home in Saltcoats, Ayrshire, on Sunday, February 4. He is understood to have been held hostage and tortured at a property in Largs before being dumped back at his home.

Officers have said they are following a “positive line of enquiry” into Lawson’s death, but some Ayrshire locals previously told the Record they are petrified that the killer is still at large while they are left in the dark.
