How much are tickets to see a ‘Star Wars’ star live on Broadway?

Hollywood is on Broadway — just not for much longer. The Tony-winning “The Sign In Sidney Brustein’s Window” starring “Star Wars'” Oscar Isaac and “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’s” Rachel Brosnahan has just a handful of shows remaining at the James Earl Jones Theatre before it closes on Sunday, July 2.And if you want to catch the pair of icons along with Tony winner Miriam Silverman and Robert DeNiro’s son Julian (!) live on stage in the revival of Lorraine Hansberry’s 1960s-based political drama, you can still grab last-minute tickets. In fact, seats are available for all remaining shows. At the time of publication, the lowest price we found was $84 before fees on Vivid Seats.Tickets for other shows begin at the $100 to $130 range.By our estimation, that’s not a bad price to catch stars from the “Spider-verse” and the upcoming “Superman” franchises IRL.

Here’s how to get affordable tickets to see Tony award-winning SIX The Musical

“SIX The Musical,” running at the Lena Horne Theatre, is as hot as ever. The upbeat 80-minute musical follows the lives of Henry VII’s six wives and how they moved on — “divorced, beheaded, died…divorced, beheaded, survived.” Over the course of the production, the Queens compete to determine who will be the lead singer of their band — winner is whomever was treated the worst by the King. The music in “SIX” is pop with a feminist tinge; for our money, the show feels more like a concert than theater.Don’t lose your head — be smart and take advantage of the affordable, available ticket prices for “SIX” while you can.At the time of publication, we found tickets going for as low as $78 before fees on Vivid Seats—not a bad price to catch a Tony-winning show live. We’ve got everything you need to know and more about seeing “SIX” live on Broadway. All prices listed above are subject to fluctuation.Interestingly enough, “SIX” only runs five days a week.As of now, audiences can catch the show eight times a week, Wednesday through Sunday at Broadway’s Lena Horne Theatre — there are no Monday or Sunday performances.

but not for much longer.“Fat Ham,” currently on Broadway at the American Airlines Theatre, closes on Sunday, June 25.And it’s a show you won’t want to miss. The story, a modern re-telling of “Hamlet” at a cookout, has more than won over Broadway fans during its three-month run in Midtown.“I’m a huge Shakespeare nerd so I went in super excited about that but also went in knowing that Hamlet himself is one of my least favorite characters in the lexicon,” theater veteran Kelly Klotz told the NY Post. “This production and the actor playing the Hamlet role (Marcel Spears) completely changed my mind.

Tony winner ‘Prima Facie” is closing soon. How much are last-minute tickets?

“Prima Face” is running for just three more weeks at New York City’s John Golden Theatre until it closes its Midtown Manhattan run on Sunday, July 2.And if you want tickets to see the hot-button play about a criminal defense lawyer with questionable morals who has her world upended, we’re here to help make that happen ASAP.If you’re looking for cheap tickets, the lowest price we could find at the time of publication was $126 before fees on Vivid Seats. That being said, last-minute tickets tend to be quite a bit more expensive for “Prima Facie” — tickets for the June 15 and June 16 shows will cost you a pretty penny. However, it’s hard to put a price tag on seeing Comer’s revelatory award-winning performance live.According to the NY Post’s Johnny Oleksinki’s glowing 3.5-star review “…we have just witnessed the emergence of an extraordinary new stage talent.”Want to see “Prima Facie” live before Comer takes her final bow? Here’s everything you need to know and more about how to make that happen. All prices are subject to fluctuation.A complete calendar including all dates, show start times and links to the cheapest tickets available can be found below.(Note: The New York Post confirmed all above prices at the publication time.

How much are tickets to see Tony winner ‘Leopoldstadt’ on Broadway?

“Leopoldstadt” won big at the 76th annual Tony Awards taking home trophies for Best Play, Best Male Featured Performance, Best Costume Design and Best Direction. There’s only one problem. The decorated show is closing in three weeks on Sunday, July 2 after opening back in October 2022.At the time of publication, there are only 24 more productions of the sprawling yet intimate family drama about a wealthy Viennese Jewish family that begins in 1899 and ends in 1955.Much to our surprise though, tickets are shockingly affordable considering how few shows remain and its pedigree. At the time of publication, we found tickets to see director Patrick Marber’s going for as low as $68 before fees on Vivid Seats. That’s a bargain for any Broadway show, let alone a four-time (!) Tony winner. As an added bonus, we found that every single remaining show has tickets available for below $100 before fees.Want to find out how much tickets cost for the show that the NY Post’s Johnny Oleksinski said “you won’t regret seeing”?We’ve got everything you need to know and more below. All prices listed above are subject to fluctuation.A complete breakdown of the last 24 “Leopoldstadt” showings at the Longacre Theatre including including dates, start times and links to the cheapest tickets available can be found below.(Note: The New York Post confirmed all above prices at the publication time.

Sleepy 2023 Tony Awards fail to showcase Broadway at its best

Against all odds, the show went on.On Sunday night, the 76th Annual Tony Awards was performed without a script due to the ongoing writers’ strike and was staged far, far away from its usual Midtown venue of Radio City Music Hall. Instead, the ceremony honoring Broadway plays and musicals was put on at the United Palace in Washington Heights way up on 176th Street. And with no lines professionally written, there were none of the usual skits or banter that make award shows chug along. Well, almost none.At one cringeworthy point, host Ariana DeBose ripped off Ellen DeGeneres’ celebrity selfie bit from the Oscars but lost her train of thought.“I don’t know what these notes stand for,” the “West Side Story” Oscar winner said awkwardly.

Tony Awards 2023: All the Snubs, Surprises and Standouts From Broadway’s Biggest Night

Gordon Cox Theater Editor In a Broadway awards ceremony without a script, there were bound to be unexpected twists, turns and upsets. Here are the biggest snubs, surprises and standouts from the 2023 Tony Awards. SNUB: The WGA’s request to nominated membersAfter producers of the Tonys vowed not to include material written specifically for the awards show, the Writers Guild of America agreed not to picket the ceremony. But the union made a follow-up request: They asked Tony-nominated guild members not to attend the Tonys in solidarity, and to pre-tape acceptance speeches or have a non-member accept on their behalf. However, many of those union members, after conferring with the Dramatists Guild, made the decision to attend the Tonys anyway – and to use the nationally televised opportunity to get vocal about their support for writers and the WGA. Sure enough, writers spotlit the WGA’s cause starting with the evening’s very first award, when “Kimberly Akimbo” lyricist David Lindsay-Abaire opened his speech with a shout-out to writers. Later, host Ariana DeBose opened the CBS portion of the telecast by voicing her own support of the union.

How 13 Tony Nominations Ignited Struggling ‘Some Like It Hot’ at the Box Office

Brent Lang Executive Editor “Some Like It Hot,” a musical adaptation of the classic film, arrived on Broadway in December with sizzling reviews and backed by some of the most prominent names in comedy and theater. And yet, for the first few months of its life on stage, the show struggled to ignite at the box office. “Word-of-mouth has taken a longer time to seep out into the world than we expected,” says Neil Meron, one of the show’s producers. “One thing we’re still struggling with in this post-pandemic period is it has changed people’s buying habits. It used to be if the critics liked you, you’d be selling out. But now, there isn’t the same level of tourism and people aren’t going to the office as much, so they aren’t seeing a show after work. And we haven’t gotten those suburban theatergoers back. So it’s week-to-week, being on the edge-of-your-seat, hoping to get enough people to keep the lights on.”

Baltimore Pride: Everything You Need To Know

“I tell folks, when they ask why to choose Baltimore Pride over other cities’ Prides, is that attending Pride in other cities requires lots of money and can be very pricey,” says Tremor Wilson, senior director of advocacy and community engagement at the Pride Center of Maryland, which organizes Charm City’s annual celebration. “If you go to New York City Pride, for example, hotels are $500 minimum and up, so it’s not affordable to the average person.“With Baltimore Pride, we partner with local hotels to offer affordable rooms that are cheaper than what they’d regularly cost,” Wilson continues.

Jodie Comer stops Broadway show over NYC air: ‘I can’t breathe’

one-woman Broadway play, “Prima Facie,” after struggling to breathe.A spokesperson for the production confirmed the British actress’ discomfort and resulting departure.“Today’s matinee of ‘Prima Facie’ was halted approximately 10 minutes into the performance after Jodie Comer had difficulty breathing due to the poor air quality in New York City because of smoke from the Canadian wildfires,” they said in a statement. An audience member told Deadline that soon after the performance began, Comer coughed and then said, “I can’t breathe in this air.”After Comer, 30, walked off, the performance was delayed for about 45 minutes and then resumed from the top with understudy Dani Arlington playing the lead. The spokesperson said it is not yet clear if the “Killing Eve” star will take the stage for the evening performance, but the smoke — causing the worst air quality in New York since the 1980s — is not expected to subside until Friday. Audience members at other Broadway theaters reported witnessing haze and smelling the burning scent that’s blanketing the city, but no Broadway shows have been canceled yet. The Public Theater, however, nixed rehearsals today for its Shakespeare in the Park production of “Hamlet” — one day before performances are set to begin. The chaos comes just four days before the Tony Awards, where Comer is nominated for Best Actress in a Play.
