With $83 million in North American ticket sales, “Uncharted” has generated $226.4 million globally so far. That haul is impressive because “Uncharted” has yet to open in China (March 14), which currently stands as the world’s biggest theatrical market.“Uncharted” continues to pull in crowds in the United Kingdom, Holland’s birthplace.
After adding another $4.4 million in the U.K. over the weekend, “Uncharted” has earned $24.8 million to date in the island nation. The movie has also enjoyed strong holds in France, making $4.1 million over the weekend and $12.2 million to date; Australia, earning $3 million over the weekend and $7.8 million to date; and Germany, amassing $2.6 million over the weekend and $6.7 million to date.
Directed by Ruben Fleischer (“Venom”), “Uncharted” is based on the popular PlayStation video game series and cost $120 million to produce.
