Disney have released the first photos of their live-action version of the famous Pinocchio movie, where Tom Hanks can be seen taking on the role of Geppetto. In the snaps, the 65 year old Hollywood actor can be seen transformed into the Italian carpenter who creates Pinocchio out of wood and brings him to life after wishing upon a star to make him a real boy.
In one photo, Tom can be seen with a full head of grey wavy hair with a matching moustache as he dons an oversized shirt with a blazer as he bends down to look at Pinocchio in front of him. His bed is also seen in the far corner, sectioned off by a patterned curtain. Another photo shows a close up of the actor in his costume with his grey hair and moustache in full view as he smiles and squints his eyes.
While a third snap sees the woodcarver working away at the puppet in his workshop. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, the live-action film will follow the original tale as the marionette embarks on an adventure to become human by proving himself as truthful, brave and selfless.
