The Tokyo International Film Festival's annual content market, TIFFCOM, said Friday that it will launch a new program designed to help Japanese and international producers secure financing for film, TV and anime projects. The inaugural Tokyo Gap-Financing Market (TGFM) will be held Nov.
4-6, midway through the Tokyo film festival, which remains scheduled to take place Oct. 31-Nov.
9. The program will begin accepting applications today.

Film festivals worldwide are teaming up to launch “We Are One: A Global Film Festival,” which will play out over 10 days and be available for free on YouTube.
With festivals around the world canceled, movie theaters closed indefinitely, and blockbusters delayed, YouTube is doing its part to bring the film festival circuit to people at home by launching We Are One: A Global Film Festival, a free 10-day digital fest which will feature programming curated by 20 film festivals, including many which were impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
A collection of Japan's art house cinemas have banded together to launch a streaming service, dubbed the "Temporary Cinema," to keep the country's indie film community afloat during the novel coronavirus pandemic. The platform is launching with a lineup of 10 Japanese and international indie movies that previously were scheduled to open theatrically at independent cinemas in the country throughout the spring.
