A nine-week-old baby was rushed into major surgery after turning 'head-to-toe bright blue' on the sofa.
Kario-Blu was born with a heart condition which would cause him to go through cyanotic spells, his mum Keely Elliot said. During these spells, parts of Kario-Blu’s body would turn a different colour as he would struggle to breathe.
Keely, 23, was told her son would need a heart operation when he was around nine-months-old. But at just nine weeks, he underwent major heart surgery after his mum 'realised something wasn't right'.

Concerns around Kario-Blu’s health started to arise at Keely’s 21-week pregnancy scan as the doctors 'couldn’t find what they needed to find'. 20 minutes after leaving hospital, Keely got a phone call to inform her she needed to have an emergency scan on her bump.

The birth defect happens when a baby’s heart does not form correctly as the baby grows and develops in the mother’s womb during pregnancy.
Keely was told if Kario-Blu’s condition didn’t 'correct itself', he would need to have open heart surgery at nine months old. Due to his condition, Kario-Blu was rushed
