This Morning paid tribute to host Phillip Schofield on Saturday as they celebrated his 61st birthday amid his current absence from the ITV show.Taking to Instagram on 1 April, the chat show shared a collection of snaps of Phillip, 61, on This Morning with co-hosts such as Holly Willoughby and Alison Hammond. They penned: "Happy birthday @schofe, from everyone at #ThisMorning!" with a celebrating emoji to which Phillip liked from his own account.
It comes as Phillip will be extending his absence from This Morning after missing last week’s shows, and will not be back hosting for several weeks. Phil normally hosts the ITV show with Holly, but Alison and Joel Dommett have been presenting with the star instead last week.The star has been missing from the daytime show since Monday and it has now been confirmed he will not be returning next week after the co-hosts' usual Friday break.
Instead, the show will be presented by Alison and Dermot O’Leary who usually present the show on Fridays, as Phil and Holly take their scheduled Easter break. So far this week, Alison stepped in to present for Phil on Monday and Tuesday’s instalments of the show, before The Masked Singer host Joel took over the reins on Wednesday and Thursday.
During an ad-break on Thursday’s programme, Alison and Dermot revealed to fans that they would be presenting the show for the next two weeks as Holly and Phil took some time off to enjoy the Easter break.
