The Traitors star John McManus has admitted to kicking and punching staff at a restaurant in an unprovoked attack in May 2023. John, 51, starred in the first series of the hit BBC reality TV show and appeared in a total of five episodes before being 'murdered' by his co-stars.
The spa therapist and actor also had small roles in EastEnders, Taggart and Taboo. CCTV footage shows the moment John attacked a 62 year old waiter at a swanky seafood and champagne restaurant last year.
He then proceeded to launch a second attack on a waitress at the same venue. John had been drinking wine with a friend when staff at The Ship On The Shore, located in Leigh, requested he keep the noise down. CCTV footage - obtained by The Sun - shows the 51 year old getting physical with a waiter before then being dragging away.
John then launches a second unprovoked attack, this time on a waitress at the venue. He is seen grabbing the woman's hair before dragging her to the floor.
The altercation took place on 7 May 2023. During an appearance at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on 15 December, John admitted to assaulting the two restaurant workers.
He pleaded guilty to two charges of assault on the opening day of the court trial, despite previously denying the attacks at his first court appearance in June 2023. The actor was fined £470 for the attacks and ordered to pay the waitress £600 in compensation. A source told The Sun: “John was swearing and using the F-word a lot - they were seated next to a table with young children and it wasn’t appropriate.
