‘The Spiderwick Chronicles’ Trailer: Roku Debuts Trailer for Fantasy Series With Christian Slater After Disney+ Scrapped It

Jaden Thompson Roku Channel has released a teaser trailer for the upcoming series “The Spiderwick Chronicles,” after it acquired the show after Disney+ chose not to move forward with it. All eight episodes will be available to stream on April 19. Adapted from the book series by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black, “The Spiderwick Chronicles” follows a group of siblings as they embark on a fantastical adventure.
The official description reads, “Helen and her children, 15-year-old fraternal twins Jared and Simon and their sister Mallory move to their ancestral home, Spiderwick. Jared discovers a boggart and realizes that magical creatures are real! The only one to believe him is his great-aunt Lucinda who implores Jared to find the pages of her father’s field guide to magical creatures and protect them from the murderous Ogre, Mulgarath.” The cast features Joy Bryant as Helen Grace, Noah Cottrell as Simon Grace, Lyon Daniels as Jared Grace, Mychala Lee as Mallory Grace, Jack Dylan Grazer as the voice of Thimbletack and Christian Slater as Mulgarath. Aron Eli Coleite and Kat Coiro are the showrunners.
Executive producers include Coleite, Coiro, Tony DiTerlizzi, Holly Black, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Jeremy Bell, D.J. Goldberg, Julie Kane-Ritsch and Grace Gilroy. The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios and 20th Television.
