The Responder is another new series for BBC One and it begins tonight (Monday) at 9pm.
The four-part series has been written by ex Merseyside Police police officer Tony Schumacher, in what is his first original series for television,
The BBC says that The Responder "holds a mirror up to the emotional extremes of life on the front line of British policing - sometimes darkly funny, sometimes painfully tragic, always challenging."

The Responder, which is based on the real-life experiences of Tony, follows Chris Carson, a crisis-stricken, morally compromised, unconventional urgent response officer tackling a series of night shifts on the beat in Liverpool.
Whilst trying to keep his head above water both personally and professionally, Chris is forced to take on a new rookie partner Rachel.
Both soon discover that survival in this high-pressure, relentless, night-time world will depend on them either helping or destroying each other.
Taking on the role of Chris is award-winning actor Martin Freeman.
Viewers will best recognize the actor for his roles in films Black Panther and The Hobbit franchise, and for TV shows Sherlock, where he played Dr. John Watson for seven years, and The Office as Tim Canterbury.
Martin was also married to Amanda Abbington, whom he met on the set of the film Men Only in 2000.
The couple, who have two children, separated in 2016.
Taking on the role of Rachel is Adelayo Adedayo.
The 33-year-old actress made her first television appearance was in The Bill, and film debut in Sket in 2011.
