Jay Blades' uncle was tragically 'stabbed to death in UK street after a neighbourly dispute', it has emerged. The Repair Shop favourite, Jay, is taking a break from social media following the devastating loss of his uncle, who was reportedly killed on a peaceful residential road due to an ongoing argument about a shared alleyway.
The 54 year old TV personality shared the sorrowful update with his Instagram fans, stating that his uncle had been "murdered a few weeks ago", leaving him reeling from the shock. He refrained from sharing more details about the circumstances of his uncle's untimely demise.
Reports have since surfaced that Richard Brathwaite, aged 72, was discovered lifeless on Cromwell Road in Wembley near midday on March 21, after allegedly being stabbed by a neighbour from the same street. The contention is said to have intensified over items placed in the alleyway they both used, according to claims. In the course of the deadly altercation, Mr Blades' aunt Annetta, 71, was also harmed, sustaining lacerations to her head and face.
A special post-mortem examination held two days after the incident confirmed that the cause of death was a stab wound, reports the Mirror. A man faced charges of murder, causing injury with intent and carrying a bladed weapon in a public space when he stepped into court on 26th March. Deanna Heer KC, the Prosecutor, told the Old Bailey in March the alleged murder was the aftermath of a long-standing quarrel between the defendant and the deceased.
