Naman Ramachandran After the success of the Indian version of “The Night Manager,” The Ink Factory is planning further Indian adaptations of John le Carré novels. Produced by The Ink Factory and Banijay Asia, the Hindi-language series created and directed by Sandeep Modi and headlined by Anil Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur, emerged as the most watched series ever across all Hotstar specials on Indian streamer Disney+ Hotstar. One of the most renowned writers in the espionage genre, le Carré, who died in 2020, left behind a legacy of 25 novels, managed by The Ink Factory. They have spawned numerous adaptations, including an English-language “The Night Manager” from BBC/AMC in 2016.
The Ink Factory executive producer Tessa Inkelaar, who oversees the company’s Asia slate, told Variety, “We are in the process of adapting one, which is in a relatively late stage of adaptation and one, which is at an early stage. We’re very keen to bring more le Carré to India.”
The titles are under wraps at the moment. Simon Cornwell, co-founder and co-CEO of The Ink Factory, told Variety, “We’ve found an approach to telling the story, which is really fresh and really contemporary, and it brings something very special. There are many ways in which the Indian adaptation of ‘The Night Manager’ moved beyond the original show, and Sandeep explored areas that we hadn’t explored or hadn’t figured out in the English-language series. And that was a thrilling process. It’s something we can push even further. This one particular story really takes wing, because it’s reset in India, on the fringes of India. It’s a very powerful piece of storytelling.” “Part of our bigger ambition is to find stories that we can tell in India that speak to people all

Dwayne Johnson is officially back in the family! In ET's exclusive look at special features from digital and Blu-ray release, Vin Diesel and director Louis Leterrier open up about the film’s cliffhanger ending, as well as the return of Johnson's «legendary lawman» Luke Hobbs in a post-credits scene.«There's no without an amazing tag at the end,» Leterrier notes. But what about bringing back that estranged member of the cast?Following a social media spat between Diesel and Johnson, Johnson vowed in 2021 that there was «no chance» of him returning to star in a movie — with plans instead to spin off his and Jason Statham's characters in a series of films. However, the post-credits scene features Jason Momoa's villain calling Hobbs to tell him he's coming for him next — all but confirming Johnson's return for the 11th film. The actor will also star in an upcoming Hobbs-focused film that will bridge the gap between and the upcoming «It was no easy task, because so much has been created in this universe,» Diesel says of Johnson's return in the featurette.
Todd Gilchrist editor When Julee Cruise died last year on June 9, David Lynch fans lost another of the essential, even inextricable collaborators who became a part of their lives as a result of being part of his art. Her ethereal singing is synonymous with both “Blue Velvet” and the many incarnations of “Twin Peaks,” the latter of whose title theme she performed. If Cruise’s absence from the physical plane runs the risk of dimming her star in our collective memories, Sacred Bones’ vinyl reissue of her 1989 album “Floating Into the Night” offers a welcome opportunity to restore it to its full luster by letting listeners experience her work anew — carrying the legacy of her and Lynch’s historic collaboration, but unencumbered by the images he paired with her music.

Owen Gleiberman Chief Film Critic In America today, no one has a lock on conspiracy theory. It has become the air we breathe, the Kool-Aid we drink, the rabbit-hole ideology that defines too many of us. Yet conspiracy theories come in different shapes and sizes. Many are false, some are true. Many are bat-house crazy, some are more than plausible. All, in one way or another, work as metaphors: for the forces (within government, corporations, whatever) that collude in hiding things from us, for the sinister tantalizing truth that we aren’t allowed to see. “They Cloned Tyrone” is a slow-burn inner-city sci-fi nightmare thriller, one that plays off the spirit of conspiracy theory that has often thrived — with justification — within Black culture. The Tuskegee experiment was a conspiracy that happened; its horrific impact on the hearts and minds of African-Americans is beyond measure. And in the 1970s, the belief that the CIA, linked by the war in Vietnam to the Golden Triangle (the source of most of the world’s heroin), was dumping drugs into America’s inner cities was a notion that gained currency, culminating a decade later in the theory that the CIA was the hidden force behind the crack epidemic.
Kylie Jenner loves a good selfie, and the 25-year-old makeup mogul shared a series of snaps she's recently taken. In addition to workout shots and glamorous looks, Kylie also shared a mirror selfie she took while rocking a one-shoulder black-and-white top. The photo got some attention after the reality star was spotted wearing the ensemble during her much-discussed reunion with her former best friend, Jordyn Woods. The reunion took place over the weekend in Los Angeles at a sushi restaurant and was documented in photos published by . Kylie and Jordyn previously had a falling out four years ago after Jordyn admitted to kissing Tristan Thompson, the then-boyfriend of Kylie's older sister, Khloe Kardashian, and the father of Khloe's two children, True Thompson, 5, and Tatum Thompson, almost one. At the time, Jordyn was living with Kylie and the pair were incredibly close.

Dennis Harvey Film Critic If “Barbarian” handily won as last year’s premier monster-in-the-basement movie, 2023’s prize might well end up going to “Cobweb” — a less inspired effort, but one decently creepy enough to get the job done. Chris Thomas Devlin’s script feels like a composite of some prior horror conceits, and there is not much depth to the narrative or characters. Still, director Samuel Bodin’s first theatrical feature is atmospheric, and departs from stock slasher conventions just enough to make for an entertaining if unexceptional scarefest. Lionsgate is releasing the U.S.-produced feature (which was apparently shot in Bulgaria in 2020) to limited theaters on July 21. It begins with the familiar device of a child having night terrors that are probably not entirely in his or her imagination. Eight-year-old Peter (Woody Norman, from “C’mon C’mon”) is a sad loner, bullied at school, who’s woken from sleep by noises seemingly behind his bedroom wall — it sounds like something or somebody is moving around back there. When he taps on the wall, “it” taps back, which sends him screaming to his parents. But they dismiss it as an old house’s bumps in the night.
