Stay tuned for exciting details as things progress,” Zombie wrote on his Instagram account last summer.
In the months following the announcement, Zombie has posted several behind-the-scenes photos. This adaption will be markedly different from Zombie’s previous flicks.
In a twist, the film will be rated PG. “For those of you speculating, wondering and assuming that ‘The Munsters’ would be dirty, violent and nasty … well, you are wrong,” Zombie has since written.

The original sitcom, which premiered in 1964 and ran till 1966, meshed classic Hollywood monsters with suburban life.
It managed to beat the similarly themed “Addams Family” in ratings until it was dethroned by the classic Adam West-starring series “Batman.” The film will be released in theaters as well as streamed on Peacock later this year.
