‘The Kill Room’ Trailer: Crime Comedy With Uma Thurman, Samuel L. Jackson & Maya Hawke Hits Theaters On September 29

Netflix has released the first trailer for Maestro starring Bradley Cooper and Carey Mulligan – check out the clip below.Directed and co-written by Cooper, the film charts the lifelong relationship between composer Leonard Bernstein (played by Cooper) and his wife Felicia Montealegre Cohn Bernstein (Mulligan).A synopsis reads: “Maestro is a towering and fearless love story chronicling the lifelong relationship between Leonard Bernstein and Felicia Montealegre Cohn Bernstein. A love letter to life and art, Maestro at its core is an emotionally epic portrayal of family and love.”Along with starring, directing and co-writing the film with Josh Singer (Spotlight), Cooper has also produced the film alongside Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Fred Berner, Amy Durning and Kristie Macosko Krieger.Other cast members include Matt Bomer, Maya Hawke, Sarah Silverman, Josh Hamilton, Scott Ellis, Gideon Glick, Sam Nivola, Alexa Swinton and Miriam Shor.As shown in the trailer, Cooper and Mulligan both sport makeup to depict older versions of the couple, as it flips from black-and-white to colour.Bernstein is a renowned conductor and composer, who is perhaps best known for his work on the Broadway musical West Side Story.Maestro is released in select UK cinemas on November 24, before it arrives on Netflix from December 20, 2023.This is the second film Cooper has directed following 2018’s A Star Is Born, where he starred opposite Lady Gaga.

The biographical romance, which Cooper also co-wrote and produced, chronicles the life of the acclaimed conductor and composer with a focus on his tumultuous 25-year marriage to Felicia Montealegre. Co-starring opposite Cooper is “She Said” actor Carey Mulligan as Montealegre.

Jackson says that a deleted scene from A Time To Kill lost him an Oscar.Jackson appeared as Carl Lee Hailey in the 1996 film, and discussed a scene that didn’t make the final cut in a new interview.Speaking to Vulture, Jackson discussed his disappointment that one particular scene that he was proud of didn’t make the cut, and that he thought it would have won him an Academy Award.“The things they took out kept me from getting an Oscar,” Jackson said, adding: “‘Really, motherfuckers? You just took that shit from me?’He added: “My first day working on that film, I did a speech in a room with an actor, and the whole fucking set was in tears when I finished.“I was like, ‘Okay. Jackson this week claimed that scenes edited out of his 1996 drama "A Time to Kill" kept him from getting an Academy Award.  "In ‘A Time to Kill,’ when I kill those guys, I kill them because my daughter needs to know that those guys are not on the planet anymore, and they will never hurt her again — that I will do anything to protect her," the 74-year-old actor told Vulture in an interview published Thursday about his character, Carl Lee Hailey, who was put on trial in the movie for killing two racist men who raped his 10-year-old daughter.  He added, "That’s how I played that character throughout.
