After a few short hours of rain, the glorious sunshine came out to shine a light on the exciting day. Welcomed with a warm drink from the Bistro at Fernlea, parents, grandparents, friends and residents from the care home all gathered around for the ceremony to start.
The graduation ceremony welcomed each child, wearing their very own cap and gown, individually onto the stage after a beautiful group rendition of Phil Collins ‘On My Way’ which they had been practising for a couple of weeks prior to the ceremony.
After enjoying the friendship of the children for the past year, Fernlea residents were keen to be involved in the graduation ceremony to wish them the best as they continue their journey. In addition to a graduation certificate, residents created a handwritten card for each child wishing them luck at school.
