‘The Fabelmans’ Star Gabriel LaBelle To Play Lorne Michaels In Sony’s ‘SNL 1975’; Cooper Hoffman & Rachel Sennott Also Join Ensemble

Kim Matula has landed an exciting new movie role in the upcoming film SNL 1975 directed by Jason Reitman.

Last Friday’s biggest news may have been the first castings for Jason Reitman‘s upcoming “SNL 1975,” all about the behind-the-scenes shenanigans from the legendary TV show’s opening night on October 11, 1975. And the cast for Reitman’s film is already formidable with young talent, with Gabriel LaBelle playing “SNL” creator Lorne Michaels, Rachel Sennott as writer Rachel Shuster and Cooper Hoffman as NBC exec Dick Ebersol.

It’s been awhile since Matthew McConaughey last appeared onscreen: four years, in fact. Not since 2019’s crime thriller The Gentleman has Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey gotten a chance to thrill audiences, but it looks like he’s getting closer at finding his next project in a big way. Sources tell Deadline that McConaughey is in negotiations to star in Comet Films and Blumhouse’s The Lost Bus, with Paul Greengrass in negotiations to direct and Apple Original Films in discussions to board the film.

EXCLUSIVE: Ella Hunt, Emily Fairn and Kim Matula have joined Sony Pictures’ SNL 1975, which will be directed by Jason Reitman and is based on the real-life behind-the-scenes accounts of Saturday Night Live‘s opening night. Hunt will play Gilda Radner, Fairn will play Laraine Newman, and Matula will play Jane Curtin. The original screenplay is by Reitman and Gil Kenan.

So, reports are that “Daredevil: Born Again” has gone back into production. This happens after what is being reported as a tumultuous time for the folks at Marvel, particularly involving this highly anticipated series.
