With large parts of Greater Manchester once being part of the historical county of Lancashire, our shared history can be found in the dialects, stories, and importantly tastes across both counties. No more so than when it comes to what was placed on the dinner table in front of generations of Lancashire and Greater Manchester families.
While many of these culinary delights are still popular today and feature on restaurant menus across Britain - think mushy peas and black pudding - others remain more regional dishes, or sadly have dwindled in popularity altogether.

Of course, every region of the country has its own particular foods they claim as their own, but with our rich history of culinary invention, let's celebrate the dishes many of us remember from our own childhoods that may not be quite as popular today.
