'Red, White & Royal Blue': First Look at Royal Rom-Com Starring Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine

continues to build, Prime Video released the first official look at the gay rom-com starring Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine. And the new images not only give audiences a closer look at the expanded cast, it also teases the ups and downs of the rocky royal romance at the center of the movie. Adapted from Casey McQuiston's bestseller of the same name, tells the story of two high-profile sons, Alex Claremont-Diaz (Perez) — whose mother, Ellen Claremont (Uma Thurman), is the President of the United States — and Britain’s Prince Henry (Galitzine), and their unexpected romance that comes out of an ongoing feud. While the two share a number of things in common — among them, good looks, charisma and popularity — Alex and Henry have a notorious disdain for each other.

A Three-Hour ‘Joni Jam’ Benefits From Famous Friends, but Nothing Overshadows Joni Mitchell’s Triumphant Return: Concert Review

Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic Joni Mitchell wrote rather presciently about “The Circle Game” 57 years ago, but anyone who’s experienced a little life knows that circles don’t always — or even very often — come back around to allowing people to enjoy some of the most triumphant nights of their lives when they’re reaching the end of their 70s. Yet with a little bit of an assist from Brandi Carlile, aka the Great Enabler, and her wide circle of friends, that’s what was able to happen Saturday night at the Gorge in Washington state, in a nearly three-hour “Joni Jam” echoed a similar but much shorter event that happened last year at the Newport Folk Festival. This more elaborate follow-up — billed as Mitchell’s first ticketed concert in 20 years — was partly a tribute concert and consummate love-fest. But mostly it was a testament to the singer-songwriter’s own willpower in fighting her way back to full performance mode after a debilitating physical setback that went unmentioned but was not far out of mind. However much Mitchell was in “basking” mode, it was understood that this triumph represented a circle that she really had had to close herself.

Twice Brings the Edge With Flirty, Hit-Heavy Set at Sold-Out Los Angeles Show: Concert Review

Thania Garcia On June 10, Twice opened the North American leg of their worldwide “Ready to Be” tour in Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium by defining its tagline: “We are ready to show you who we are, just as we are,” they announced, “As time goes [on], we are more comfortable being ourselves. Your love makes us super confident!” Based on the rapturous response from the sold-out crowd of thousands, they feel the same way too. Twice became a leading group in the K-pop scene as soon as the nine-member group — comprised of Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu — made their debut in 2015. Now, eight years later, the group’s signature light pop, fluttering choreography, and candied lyrics have led to five worldwide jaunts.

You won’t believe last-minute ticket prices to see The Cure

The Cure put on a career-spanning 2.5-hour concert. That’s a Taylor Swift length show. However, tickets don’t cost nearly as much to see the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers live this summer. While prices to see Swift typically hover above $1000, we found tickets to see Robert Smith and co. going for as low as $8 before fees (!) on Vivid Seats this summer. While that price tag is an outlier — tickets for most remaining shows on the run start in the $20 to $200 range — it does demonstrate that great deals to see the band live are out there. You just have to keep an eye out.Especially when the “Just Like Heaven” rockers drop into New York City’s Madison Square Garden from June 20-22.Over the course of the three-night MSG stay, prices start at $97 before fees but as we get closer to the mini-residency, things could certainly change.Who knows? You just might get to hear “Friday, I’m In Love,” “Close To Me,” “Boys Don’t Cry,” “In Between Days,” “Pictures of You” and so many more live for less than a beer.Want to know more about The Cure’s ‘Songs of a Lost World Tour?’Keep reading — we’ve got everything you need to know and more below. All prices listed above were found at the time of publication and are subject to fluctuation.A complete calendar of all remaining Cure tour dates, venues and links to the cheapest tickets available can be found below.(Note: The New York Post confirmed all above prices at the publication time.

Roger Waters Doubles Down on Controversial Comments and Conspiracy Theories at London Show: Concert Review

Mark Sutherland “I know you didn’t come here to listen to this,” sighed Roger Waters as he surveyed the O2 crowd. With most aging rockers on a “first-ever farewell tour”, that statement would likely mean they were about to play some new material. At Roger Waters’ show, sadly, it meant he was about to sing the same old song. Sure enough, an extended rant against “the Israeli lobby” and British MP Christian Wakeford followed.  “They are trying to cancel me,” he claimed, to at first hesitant, but then louder applause. “And it hurts. We’ve done 80 shows and we’ve done nothing but share our love for people. That’s why I’m so pissed off with this Israeli lobby bullshit.” He also accused his critics of, “Making up stuff because you’ve been told to by your masters from the Foreign Office in Tel Aviv.”

Matthew López on ‘Some Like It Hot,’ Remaking ‘The Bodyguard’ and Directing the Gay Rom-Com ‘Red, White & Royal Blue’

Brent Lang Executive Editor As Matthew López prepared for the London debut of “The Inheritance,” his epic drama about the AIDS epidemic and its painful aftershocks, he was simultaneously outlining a first draft of “Some Like It Hot,” an effervescent re-imagining of the classic Billy Wilder film. The two shows could not have been more radically different. But López enjoyed toggling between comedy and tragedy. “I like working in extremes,” he says. “I like working in different modes.” Plus, he thinks that both productions benefitted from their author’s double act. “I got to live in both worlds at once,” López argues. “One helped the other. Doing the shows at the same time kept both projects in check. It prevented ‘The Inheritance’ from getting too dour and kept ‘Some Like It Hot’ from getting too lightweight. It brought some gravity to ‘Some Like It Hot’ and some levity to ‘The Inheritance.'”

Jelly Roll’s ‘Whitsitt Chapel’ Show at the Ryman Is a 12-Step Meeting, a Revival and a Party All at Once: Concert Review

Holly Gleason Forty-five minutes after published start time, with the Ryman Auditorium’s house lights blazing, the chanting began. “Jelleeeeeee! Jelllllllly! Jelleeeeeeeeeee! JELLY!” For most people on the coasts, as well as polite society in the flyover, the phenomenon that is Jelly Roll, a rapper-turned-country breakout sensation, may not yet have registered. Even for music industry pundits, the jaundiced eye can paint him as one more hip-hop bro-country expansion, albeit one with some serious facial ink. But for what served as the release party for Jason DeFord’s first full-length country release — “Whitsitt Chapel,” out this weekend – the sold-out audience’s response Wednesday fell somewhere between altar call and full-on revival. To a mixed crowd of the elderly, the face-tatted, the backwards-cap-wearing dudes, zaftig hotties, little kids, 12-step/recovery T-shirt-sporting 20-somethings and the kind of regular working class people who don’t stand out, the night was an affirmation of their own worth in a world that’s quick to judge or dismiss them.

Shania Twain Has Her Army of Cowgirls and Boys Come on Over to the Hollywood Bowl: Concert Review

Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic “It’s been about 25 years since I stood on this stage,” since Shania Twain, not long after the kickoff to her set Sunday night at the Hollywood Bowl. She had that figured about right — the calendar shows she last played America’s most favored amphitheater on May 6, 1999. That was a few weeks shy of the moment that her signature song among all signature songs, “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!,” peaked on the charts. When she pulled it out as her inevitable final encore number Saturday, it still felt like it was cresting. It’s a song that may never have truly peaked until all the generations represented at the Bowl this Memorial Day weekend have passed away and/or the day the prerogative to have a little fun has been codified into the criminal as a felony. For as long as there are women, and gay men, and straight men relaxed with themselves enough to buy “Let’s go, girls” T-shirt and diode-blinking pink cowboy hats, Twain will own rights to the ultimate ladies’ night anthem, just as surely as she owns the federal trademark on exclamation points. (She does, doesn’t she?)

Taylor Swift’s 3.5 Hour New York City Stop on the ‘Eras Tour’ Cements Her Pop Culture Dominance, Celebrates Ice Spice: Concert Review

William Earl Taylor Swift is such a force that her post-quarantine “Eras Tour” was a sensation the moment tickets went on sale. Despite Swift playing the biggest venues possible for multiple days in each city, the wild demand has helped to make each stop national news, especially as they are documented in real time on social media. Livestreams dominate on TikTok, “I-can’t-believe-you-got-tickets” posts rise to the top on Instagram, and the media cycle analyzes every change in Swift’s setlist, as well her famous friends in attendance. Beyond the hoopla, Swift’s May 26 NYC show at MetLife Stadium was a dazzling display of an artist at the height of her powers, able to elevate her success over her previously-set peaks. Swift paved the way to the “Eras Tour” via a wildly productive quarantine, when she recorded her sound-shifting trilogy of albums “Folklore,” “Evermore,” and “Midnights.” Those records broadened her appeal and won new fans, but her audience wondered how she’d ever be able to properly tour that trio plus her previous album, “Lover,” the tour of which was canceled because of COVID-19.
