Featuring plenty of family drama and conflict, the four-part series sees one family take in a lodger called Sian (Jill Halfpenny) in order to help ease their financial difficulties. However, after welcoming Sian into their family home, things begin to change and the family’s dynamic starts to become undone as they quickly realise that their new lodger might not be who she claims to be.

The Cuckoo follows Sian, a woman who inserts herself in the lives of Nick and Jessica as she moves into their home as a lodger. Sian quickly causes trouble for the married couple and their adopted daughter Alice.The trio have moved to their dream home in the country but due to a financial crisis, they are forced to take in a lodger to help pay for their mortgage. From becoming close with Nick to forming an inappropriate relationship with Alice, it's not long before Jessica realises Sian is not who she claimed to be.

While kept under wraps for what seemed like years, the “Star Wars” Lucasfilm series “The Acolyte” was finally revealed last month with the first trailer that pulled back the curtain on the series. Created by “Russian Doll” writer/director Leslye Headland, also known for raunchy R-rated comedies like “Bachelorette,” the trailer teased some of its influences, such as “The Phantom Menace” (it’s set 100 years before those events, the but similarities are undeniable), noir-mysteries and little bit of “The Matrix”-style kung-fu action.
