Today (December 8th) is the 39 anniversary of her death. She was strangled in a back alley just 200 yards from her home in Leigh. But her home town has never forgotten her.
Her killer has never been found but their remains a collective will within many living in the town for justice to be done. It is personified by Ryan Daly, who with Andrea Aldred, an old school mate of Lisa's set up a Facebook page specifically to seek new information which might assist GMP's Cold Case Unit crack the case. The site, which has 2,300 members, has been both a source of potential new intelligence and a place which has rekindled memories of Lisa.

Ryan was born six years after Lisa's death but his family lived on the same estate as the schoolgirl, and he sensed a lingering discomfort and pain in the community about the case.
"Lisa Hession's case is a case in my hometown of Leigh, that the people just want closure and answers, and to find out who this man is," said Ryan. "I have lived in Leigh all my life. Despite not being born when this evil crime was committed I began raising awareness about this case in May 2016.
