Keeping kids occupied over the Easter Holidays can be a tricky challenge for parents. Luckily there are plenty of fun activities and attractions to do across Greater Manchester during the break.
One place which is guaranteed to entertain children and fire up their imaginations is RHS Garden Bridgewater. Located just outside of the M60 in Salford, it’s a gorgeous 154-acre garden where kids can get outside and enjoy the spring weather.
During the holidays RHS Bridgewater is running a programme of activities to ensure your little ones don’t get bored. Naturally the main attraction is the Giant Egg Hunt trail, taking place from April 3 - 16.

It features colourful eggs decorated by local artists Cath Ford and Alastair Price, inspired by designs by pupils from four local schools: Moorside Community Primary School, Summerville Primary School, Marlborough Road Academy and St Boniface RC Primary School. The artists ran workshops at each school with the children, and some of their amazing artwork will be on display at the garden as well. Those who successfully find all of the hidden eggs will receive a chocolate treat to take home.
Alongside the trail the garden is hosting a range of family-friendly activities to get stuck into. For babies and toddlers there’s a sensory interactive workshops taking place on Wednesday, April 12, with half hour sessions at 11am, 12.30pm and 1.30pm.
On Friday April 7 and Saturday April 8 kids can take part in the interactive outdoor theatre show, Blockbuster Factory, by Cat and Mouse Theatre. There are two shows at 11am - 12pm and 2pm - 3pm.
