The American Music Awards may take year off in 2023

The CMT Music Awards 2023 proved to be a big night for Jelly Roll who topped the night as the most-awarded artist taking home three trophies.

Nothing brings people together like music. The 2023 CMT Music Awards will be a star-studded event — not only for the show’s nominees and performers, but also for its presenters.

Thania Garcia Myke Towers, Anuel AA, Edén Muñoz, and Prince Royce are among the first round of confirmed performers for the 2023 Latin American Music Awards taking place on April 20 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Towers will be performing “Mi Droga,” the second track from his newly released “La Vida Es Una,” while Anuel will perform “Más Rica Que Ayer”; newlyweds Guaynaa and Lele Pons will treat audiences to a medley including “Abajito” from their upcoming album “Capitulations”; and Royce will be singing an unreleased song. Elsewhere, rising acts Bad Gyal and Muñoz will make their Latin AMAs on-stage debut. Bad Gyal will be singing her female-empowerment anthem “Chulo,” while the Mexican producer and singer-songwriter will perform his catchy hit single, “Chale.” Muñoz is also nominated in the new artist of the year category alongside Bizarrap, Blessd, Grupo Frontera, Los Lara, Luis Figueroa, Luis R Conriquez, Quevedo, Santa Fe Klan and Yahritza y Su Esencia.

The American Music Awards might not happen this year after all.

American Music Awards will take a one year sabbatical, Variety has learned. Following news announcing that the Billboard Music Awards would be moving their date to Nov. 19, 2023, typically a Sunday held for the AMAs, it left parent company Dick Clark Productions no choice but to bump the AMAs to 2024, when it could take the May slot previously held by Billboard. Multiple sources say that neither has a broadcast partner and producer Dick Clark Productions, which is owned by Penske Media Corp. (parent company of Variety and Billboard) had to make the decision of which show to throw its weight behind. Since PMC owns Billboard, insiders suggest that the thinking was to promote its own brand. Chatter among music industry professionals is that the AMAs, which launched in 1973, was becoming stale.

The announcement last week that the 2023 Billboard Music Awards will be held on Sunday, November 19, raised a few eyebrows because that had been the date earmarked for the 2023 American Music Awards. Both music award shows are produced by dick clark productions.

Taylor Swift has made good on a promise to give tour tickets to a young fan who survived an accident that left her hospitalised with burns.Isabella McCune, a longtime fan of the pop star, had been hoping to see Swift on her ‘Reputation’ tour in 2018. However, in the lead up to the show the then eight-year-old girl had a severe accident that left her hospitalised for nine months with burns covering 65 per cent of her body.As ABC 15 reports, Swift visited McCune in hospital after the accident and left her a note, which read: “Isabella, I hope you feel better soon.
