Tesco hit by tech breakdown just hours after Sainsbury's supermarket till chaos

Tesco is the latest supermarket to suffer from technical glitches today just hours after Sainsbury's retailers encountered similar issues.
A "small proportion" of grocery deliveries have been cancelled by Tesco on Saturday as a result of unspecified technical issues impacting services. As of now, the outlet has not detailed with regions have been affected.
As reported by the Mirror, a Tesco spokesperson said: “We are working to fix a technical issue which has meant we have had to cancel some online orders that were due for delivery today. We’re sorry for the inconvenience.”
It comes right of the back of major issues seen at Sainsbury's on the same day, which has resulted in customers being unable to use card payments at tills and resorting to cash only transactions. At the same time, the "vast majority" of online shoppers have also been hit by the "technical issue".
Taking to social media, Sainsbury's informed followers of the problem which has seen long queues form at ATMS. Writing on Twitter, it said: "We are currently experiencing a technical issue affecting some stores, our Groceries Online service and our ability to contact customers directly.
"Unfortunately, we will not be able to fulfil the vast majority of today's Groceries Online deliveries. We are working hard to fix the issue and apologise to our customers for the inconvenience. We will contact customers proactively to rebook orders as soon as we can."
Sainsbury's customers quickly flocked to the comments section to enquire about their orders, with one asking if they would be entitled to a refund: "Will we be able to return the items we no longer need (as they were needed for this weekend) and get a refund because we've had to go and re-buy them elsewhere?
