A BMW was deliberately driven at a group of people after an alleged rammy outside a McDonald's in East Kilbride.
Families watched on in terror as the plush white 4x4 was seen driving erratically in a car park in the Queensway area of the town at 2.30pm on Sunday, September 3.
The occupants of the vehicle are understood to have been involved in an altercation with a number of people outside the fast food restaurant. Moments later the car reversed at speed into a group of men and a woman forcing them to flee for cover.
The disturbance was captured on camera by a member of the public.
The shocking video footage shows the white car erratically reversing towards a group of four people, who are standing outside the restaurant. The group can then be seen attempting to chase the vehicle as it drives away.
But the motorist loops around the car park before attempting to reverse into the group at speed once again.
The driver of the BMW then speeds out of the car park. During the clip, horrified families can be heard saying: "Oh my god" and "I'm a bit scared".
One eyewitness, who had been in the restaurant with her grandchildren, told the Record the occupants of the car had been involved in an altercation with a number of people before the shocking incident.
She said: "I saw two young men becoming quite agitated and both were pacing back and forth around the entrance.
"Moments later a man and a woman started banging furiously on the windows of a white BMW.
"The car shot forward to get away from them but it stopped abruptly and then reversed at speed towards the group of people.
They jumped behind the pedestrian barrier. Another white car appeared and a man jumped out and started running towards the BMW.
