Tenn. governor signs anti-LGBTQ adoption bill into law

Republicans on an Iowa House panel Monday advanced an anti-LGBTQ bill that is so extreme it would require teachers to notify parents if they plan on even mentioning Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg, because he is gay. The bill, sponsored by 13 Republican lawmakers, would force educators to allow parents to opt-out of any instruction that relates to sexual orientation or gender identity.

Family Research Council president Tony Perkins has awarded 51 U.S. Senators and 100 members of the House of Representatives the anti-LGBTQ hate group’s True Blue award, and lawmakers – all Republicans – were only too proud to tweet out photos of themselves receiving their awards.

At issue: Graham’s anti-LGBTQ extremism.

In the state of Tennessee, governor Bill Lee recently signed into law HB 836, a bill providing protections for child welfare organizations who to turn away LGBTQ parents looking to adopt children. The Human Rights Campaign denounced the decision, saying that the new legislation "will harm children in Tennessee."
