A teenage boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 21-year-old man died on Wednesday evening.
Emergency services rushed to Kings Road, in Old Trafford, to reports of a disturbance around 7.45pm and found the man with serious injuries.
He sadly could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Murder cops launched an investigation and say a 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the incident, the Manchester Evening News reports.
A 16-year-old boy has also been arrested in suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon in the nearby area.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Police were called to an address on Kings Road, Old Trafford at around 7.45pm this evening (Wednesday 31 May 2023) to reports of a disturbance.
"The victim - a 21-year-old man -was found with serious injuries and sadly pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.
"A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with this incident and a 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in the nearby area. They both remain in custody ahead of questioning."
A cordon remains in place tonight on Kings Road, near its junction with Rostherne Avenue. It is expected to remain in place overnight.
Detective Superintendent Jane Higham added: “Firstly, my thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this time. Officers have been deployed to support them.
“We are in the very early stages of a murder investigation, and a team of experienced officers will be working throughout the night and over the coming days to understand a timeline of events that will help us piece together what has happened this evening.
