Former Manchester United striker Teddy Sheringham believes England manager Gareth Southgate should pick West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen over Marcus Rashford for this month's internationals - but has insisted that Harry Maguire should keep his place in the squad.
Rashford, who is considering his future at United, has struggled for form in recent months and has scored just five times in all competitions this season. He has frequently been criticised and genuine concerns have been raised about his welfare following such a dramatic nosedive in form.
Bowen, on the other hand, has been excellent for West Ham and has been one of the surprise stars of the season. He has scored an impressive 12 goals and grabbed 11 assists in all competitions this term, 18 of which, combined, have come in the Premier League.

Maguire, meanwhile, has also experienced a season to forget at Old Trafford. The United skipper has been guilty of committing a plethora of mistakes and disappointing performances.
Nevertheless, whilst Sheringham believes Rashford's place in the England squad for the upcoming clashes with Switzerland and the Ivory Coast ought to be in question, he believes Maguire should retain his place, insisting he, despite his recent troubles, "doesn't deserve to be dropped."
Sheringham told Lord Ping: "Rashford is having a tough time at the moment, he can't get in the Manchester United team and Jarrod Bowen has been on fire, scoring goals and making goals.
"There's a case for him being picked in the England squad with Rashford coming out if you're doing it on recent form. There is a chance that will happen.
