A teacher was left fuming after she was gifted an 'insulting' Christmas present from her school.
The teacher shared her horror over the present she received from her employer. Instead of being given the classic gift of chocolates, biscuits or a mug, she was given a Covid test.
In a video shared to her @lil.yambs TikTok account in 2022, the art teacher struggled to hold back her frustration as she showed off the present. She wondered if she was being a "brat", but many people were also left puzzled on her behalf.
As reported in the Mirror, she said: "I'm confused. Is this a joke? I got my Christmas present from the school. It's literally a Covid rapid test."
The art teacher moved the candy-cane-themed wrapping paper off the box to reveal the Covid test, which is used to detect the virus that causes Covid-19 by testing specimens from your nose and mouth, before letting out a big sigh in disgust. She then joked that this is her 'Christmas bonus' after adding the hashtag #teachersareunderpaid to her post - further showing her frustration at the lacklustre present.
The clip quickly went viral as viewers were left staggered by the bizarre gift. People flocked to the comments section to share their thoughts and many made the same point - that at the time, Covid tests were free in the district they were from.
One person wrote: "Those are the current free ones I just got in the mail today from the government," while another added: "Sorry but omg I wasn't expecting it to be this bad" with three laughing emojis.
A third added: "What??!? You can go online to the USPS website and request four of those tests for FREE!", as someone else posted: "Just plain insulting - I'd rather have nothing!"
Other teachers have shared that they've never
