The Long Yarn of ‘Sweater Weather’: The Neighbourhood Hit Refuses to Die as It Turns 10 and Earns Diamond Certification

Mike Wass From braving the wild terrain of early Tumblr to its renaissance on TikTok, “Sweater Weather” by the Neighbourhood (stylized as the neighbourhood) has bridged the pre- and post-streaming eras by resonating with generations of netizens. Along the way, it’s amassed 2.1 billion Spotify streams, 1.7 billion YouTube views, and now earned a RIAA diamond certification for sales in excess of 10 million song units — one of only 106 songs to reach the milestone. These accolades hit the song’s co-writers a little differently. “To achieve such a big milestone is hard to believe,” says guitarist Zach Abels. “I think for all of us, it’s really hard to take in and accept it as reality.”

‘Love Is Blind’ Creator Breaks Down Season 4 Twists, Casting Backlash and Whether Zack and Bliss Broke the Rules

Emily Longeretta Warning: This story contains spoilers from the “Love Is Blind” Season 4 finale, now streaming on Netflix. It’s never a dull moment on “Love Is Blind,” and Season 4 was no different. During the finale, which dropped on Netflix on Friday, it was time for the weddings. While viewers weren’t surprised by fan-favorite couple Tiffany and Brett saying yes at the altar, they weren’t the only engaged pair to tie the knot. Chelsea and Kwame put all their differences aside and said yes, as did Bliss and Zack — who didn’t even get engaged until after the pods. While Jackie and Marshall didn’t make it to the altar, Micah and Paul did. When she was asked for her choice, she asked Paul to go first, and he said no.

But for an hour or so on Wednesday evening, five core players of “The Americans” reunited in Midtown Manhattan to share stories and spread a few compliments for work they did together on the highly lauded FX series. To mark the 10th anniversary of the spy drama’s debut, stars Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys and Noah Emmerich were joined by showrunners Joe Weisberg and Joel Fields for a lively reunion conversation hosted by the Paley Center for Media. Fields reminded his colleagues that Superstorm Sandy made a surprise guest appearance in “The Americans” pilot, turning the production schedule upside down just before they were scheduled to begin shooting the pilot for DreamWorks Television and Fox Television Studios.

Angela Bassett Recalls Holding Austin Butler’s Hand When He Lost the Oscar: ‘His Name Wasn’t Called, But He’s No Less a Winner’

Zack Sharf Digital News Director One of the many viral images that emerged out of the 2023 Oscars was the sight of Angela Bassett holding Austin Butler’s hand as the best actor category was announced. Butler was nominated in the category for his performance in “Elvis,” but he lost the Oscar to “The Whale” star Brendan Fraser. The moment registered deeply across social media as Bassett endured her own Oscars loss in the best supporting actress race earlier in the ceremony. Bassett was nominated for her role in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” but the Oscar went to Jamie Lee Curtis for “Everything Everywhere All at Once.” “On the evening of the Oscars, with Austin seated next to me, I understood intimately what he felt when it was time to learn if he would climb those stairs to the stage,” Bassett wrote in a tribute to Butler as part Time magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people of 2023. “So, I  took his hand and held it softly as the winner was announced. Although his name wasn’t called, Austin is no less a winner. The time had come for Austin to say goodbye to Elvis as he began to embrace an infinite universe of possibilities as an actor. I can’t wait to see what he brings us next.”
