Familiar face Reg McLaren was back in Jeanfield colours on Saturday and helped the club return to winning ways.
The striker, who returned on Thursday after a spell with East Kilbride, was straight in from the start for the Premier Division tussle at Dundonald Bluebell.
While he was not on the scoresheet in the 2-0 win - Aaron Whitehead and Kieran Sweeney took that honour - his presence was very much welcomed by manager Ross Gunnion.
“Reg made his return and we couldn’t be happier seeing him back,” Gunnion told the PA.
“He signed on Thursday and came down with Connor to do some work ahead of the game which shows you the commitment and determination to do well both of them have.
“I thought Reg and Connor linked well and he’ll be a huge asset in the run in if he continues to lead the line like he did on Saturday.
“We should have scored a few in the first half but it was pleasing to see both Aaron Whitehead and Kieran Sweeney show their strength in the opposition box as well as defending our own.”
Youngster Evan Wolecki had been rewarded with a start after impressing against Linlithgow Rose midweek.
“He impressed again,” Gunnion said. “Adam Leese, Scott Logan and Elliot Scott all came off the bench to contribute to the win and clean sheet as well.
“It was great to bounce back with a victory and all credit goes to the players for their effort and attitude.
“We started the game missing 10 players, but those that played were outstanding and controlled the game against a very strong opponent from the outset.”

Just two days after the “Love Is Blind” Season 4 live reunion fiasco, which delayed the livestream for over an hour with many viewers unable to watch the special until the next day, Netflix Co-CEO Greg Peters said the delayed was caused by a “bug.” “From a technical perspective, we’ve got the infrastructure,” Peters said during Tuesday’s earning call. “We had just a bug that we introduced, actually, when we implemented some changes to try and improve live streaming performance after the last live broadcast Chris Rock in March and we just didn’t see this bug in internal testing because it only became apparent once we put sort of multiple systems interacting with each other under the load of millions of people trying to watch ‘Love is Blind.'”While fans of the reality dating series tuned in to the special expecting for the reunion to rehash the season’s drama and give a status update for how each couple’s relationship has evolved since their respective wedding days, viewers were met with a error message on the live stream.Despite the livestreaming troubles, the reunion reached an audience of 6.5 million viewers, Peters said.“We’re really sorry to have disappointed so many people,” Peters continued.

It’s fun to be able to lampoon yourself.
Owen Wilson is back, with brushes, as the longtime host of a beloved but fading Burlington, Vermont-based PBS instructional art show. Paint from IFC Films opens on 800+ screens.
What could the future possibly hold for an artist if they have grown too comfortable with success? If they have stayed put in that snug place of glory, but the times have moved on fast without them? These are the hefty considerations at the heart of “Paint,” a slight comedy that sadly embraces neither the worthwhile questions that surround its central premise nor the story’s dark humor potential. That’s too bad, because writer-director Brit McAdams’ narrative feature debut is rooted in a genuinely fascinating subject that apparently served as an inspiration for “Paint.” McAdam’s muse is Bob Ross, a real-life American public television mainstay of the ‘80s and ‘90s. Being the host of a successful PBS show called “The Joy of Painting” during that time, Ross built a loyal audience who loved and were mesmerized by his soothing voice, and even haunted by his creative process and ease with a brush, as Ross slowly created his art in front of curious eyes, narrating it softly and philosophically.

The first “Murder Mystery” from 2019, written by James Vanderbilt (“Zodiac”), was a fun star-studded throwback to the 1980s Agatha Christie films like 1982’s “Evil Under the Sun,” with salt of the earth Brooklynites Nick and Audrey Spitz (Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston) thrown into the mix. The script was a smart, genre-savvy affair coupled with Sandler-style lowbrow comedy, a combination that almost worked, but was undone by the lackluster direction by Kyle Newacheck.

Scott Huver After starring in “Paint” as a Bob Ross-esque (but far more angry and tortured) paint instructor, Owen Wilson admits he’s warmed to finding his own sense of zen calm — not with watercolors and brushes, but with Crayolas. “When my boys were little, at restaurants I’d give them crayons and try to calm them down, but I think that maybe adults should be doing that, too,” Wilson told Variety at the premiere of the IFC film at the Ace Hotel on Thursday. ”I don’t know why we ever stop doing that, because there is something really nice about trying to create something.” “I guess there’s that Picasso quote: ‘I want to spend the rest of my life learning to paint like a child,’” he mused. “Not worrying about anything and just expressing yourself — that feels good.”
