Strictly Come Dancing star Nikita Kuzmin has called time on his relationship with long-term girlfriend Nicole Wirt, after five years together, according to reports. The talented professional dancer, who is currently starring on the 20th series of the iconic BBC show alongside his celebrity dance partner Olympic swimmer Ellie Simmonds, is said to have mutually made the decision to split with fellow dancer Nicole after dating for over half a decade.
A source close to the couple, told The Sun : “Nikita wanted to totally focus on this series of Strictly and decided a while back he wanted to end his relationship with Nicole. “They had been together for five years and it ended up being a mutual decision.
“Nikita is totally caught up in Strictly so they decided it was for the best for them to break up." Despite the split however, the couple remain good friends and only want “what is best for each other.” Both Nikita and the BBC have declined to comment on the reports. Preferring to keep their romance relatively low-key, the private couple had previously shied away from too many overt displays of affection on social media, however both Nikita and Nicole were happy to share photos of their dances together, as they competed professionally as a couple in Germany.
First paired together in 2016, the duo competed together in an Amateur Latin competition, before scooping the top prize and finishing first place with their budding partnership. Since then, snaps of the pair have become more and more frequent, with Nicole having shared several videos of her adventures and time with Nikita on social media in the past year or so.
