Strictly Come Dancing fans have become worried that professional dancer Giovanni Pernice may quit the show following an "awkward" interview. The professional dancer, 32, and his celebrity partner TV and radio personality Richie Anderson, 34, were voted off the dance competition in the Sunday night results show.
The duo appeared together on spin-off show It Takes Two on Monday (October 10) where they discussed their brief time on the show. While Richie appeared quite emotional as he discussed his departure from the BBC one dance show, fans were quick to note that his professional partner was not quite so moved, with some suggesting that there may be tension between the two.
As the interview aired, one fan took to Twitter, writing: “This is absolutely the most awkward #ItTakesTwo interview ever.” Another replied that they thought Giovanni looked “uncomfortable” and “not as gutted to be eliminated” as the dancers usually are. While a third fan posted: “The tension is off the scale.
Awkward between Richie and Gio,” to which one twitter user replied that the pair had “no chemistry.” The conversation then switched to whether this awkwardness may lead to Giovanni quitting the show, with one viewer saying: “I sincerely hope he doesn't leave Strictly won't be the same without him!” “How many pros have left within a year or two of winning the glitterball? Their shows become even faster sell outs and the merch can sustain them for a long time” asked another, referencing Giovanni’s win last year when paired with EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis. While rumours have swirled of a feud between Giovanni and Richie, the pair addressed these claims in an It Takes Two appearance last week.
