Much of the UK is bracing itself for heavy rain and strong winds brought by Storm Ciaran - and Greater Manchester is set to be hit by the downpours.
Downpours are set to begin over our region from the early hours of tomorrow morning (Thursday), with heavy rain forecast to fall for several hours until around 6am. After a few hours let off, more heavy rain is then forecast for tomorrow afternoon and into the evening, according to the Met Office.
Showers look set to be persistent and heavy until Friday morning when they should then ease off. A yellow weather warning for rain comes into force at 6pm today and lasts until 11.59pm tomorrow.

Although it doesn't cover Greater Manchester, it covers parts of Cheshire and other areas in the North West. Forecasters predict that Storm Ciaran will cause 'disruption' to parts of the UK, with strong winds also forecast.
People have been warned to expect delays on the roads and on public transport. On Thursday, a number of amber weather warnings for wind have been issued in the South.
Met Office deputy chief meteorologist Dan Suri said: "Wind and rain warnings associated with Storm Ciaran are in force from Wednesday night onwards into Friday. As well as strong winds, this deep low pressure system will bring heavy rain to many parts of the UK.
"Much of southern England and south Wales, as well as parts of north Wales, northeast England, southeast Scotland and perhaps the east of Northern Ireland look to see the wettest conditions between Wednesday evening and Friday morning."
