An elderly couple were 'holding hands and crossing the road' when they were hit by a car in a car park outside Salford shopping centre, an eyewitness has said.
Emergency services descended on the car park, outside the precinct and Tesco supermarket, at around 12.30pm on Wednesday afternoon (September 6).
A horrified eyewitness, who ran over to help the man in his 70s and woman in her 80s, said the pair had been 'crossing the road' in the car park and 'holding hands' at the time before he claims they fell to the ground and were dragged underneath the vehicle.
