Mixologist Neil Garner is bringing the bubble tea craze to Stockport with the launch of Cherry’s Boba Shop. Garner, the owner of local bar Cherry Jam, will offer over 10,000 flavour combinations at the new shop, which is now open opposite Red Rock cinema.
Cherry’s Boba Shop, which officially opened its doors this weekend, is said to boast the widest range of bubble tea flavours in the UK. The tea-based drink, which originated in Taiwan in the 1980s, typically consists of tea accompanied by chewy tapioca balls - “boba” or “pearls”.
Neil Garner said: “The team behind Cherry Jam are inviting you to “fall in love with boba” with our award-winning cocktail ‘Cha-Tenders” mixing up delicious bubble tea cocktails and boba mocktails. We are so excited to introduce our incredible menu to Stockport’s families and teens - they have been created with the same flair as our cocktails and taste absolutely amazing.

“If Willy Wonka made boba tea, this shop would sell them all. What’s more, the shop itself is gorgeous and makes a great place to go for a pre or post-cinema treat for the town’s hip young crowd.”
The bubble tea menu includes vast array of flavours including Strawberry Shortcake, with jasmine green tea, strawberry, golden shortbread and strawberry popping boba, and Banana Split – a mix of banana milk tea, hazelnut and cream, topped with rainbow boba and hundreds & thousands. The Elvis, with peanut butter jelly strawberry milk tea, and Minion Banana Bang - pineapple fruit tea, banana boba and minion banana Jammie dodgers - offer some quirkier takes.
